About

Rosie Meader is a performer and writer from Sydney who has been on stage with her family band since age four. She has performed at the Sydney Opera House, Belvoir St and the Seymour Centre as a member of many ensembles. In 2019 she graduated from the prestigious Talent Development Project, where she presented, workshopped, wrote and recorded musical theatre works under the guidance of industry professionals, most notably her composition ‘Best Of All Me’, recorded at Sony Music.

In 2020 she graduated from Brent Street with her Musical Theatre Diploma, after which she completed her course at NIDA’s Actors Studio. In June of 2021, Rosie wrote, directed and starred in her first original musical, ‘Everybody Loves A Wedding’, which premiered at the Giant Dwarf Theatre. It was later revived in 2022 at the Flight Path Theatre to sold-out audiences.

She is currently developing her new piece entitled ‘Spitfire Girls The Musical’, which tells the inspiring true story of young female pilots during World War II. In July 2022, she produced a ten-day workshop of the musical funded by the Brent Street Inaugural Artist fund of $20,000. She also workshopped this piece as part of the Hayes Theatre's SHOWLAB program and received guidance from a panel of Musical Theatre professionals. Spitfire Girls The Musical is set to undergo its second development workshop in November 2023, funded by the TDP's annual Mary Lopez Scholarship, of which Rosie is this year's recipient.
